Review Of Motorola Razr V3m – Red (Sprint)

REVIEW:
Motorola is known to produce lots of great handsets over the years and they have found success with it as well. Now they have come up with Sprint’s V3m. Sprint now offers the Motorola Razr in gray and in a special-edition red version. Sprint’s V3m is largely similar to its Verizon Wireless counterpart, save for a few look-and-feel differences. The price of the V3m is reasonable and it’s easily affordable for the users.

Motorola Razr V3m - red (Sprint)

From the exterior, the Sprint Razr V3m is nearly identical to Verizon’s Razr V3m and to previous incarnations of the phone. It has the thin profile that sparked a cell phone design revolution but also the same boxy appearance when viewed from the front. It’s a bit heavier and larger than the original Razr V3. The external display of the Razr V3m supports 65,000-colors. The camera lens is just above the external display. On the right spine sits the volume rocker and voice recording button. The camera shortcut sits on the right spine.

The internal display of the V3m 2.25-inch and it supports 65,000-colors. Sprint ditched Moto’s stodgy menu interface in favor on its own design that is becoming somewhat standard on most of its handsets. Disappointingly only the screen’s backlighting time is changeable. And in another change, the Sprint yellow is all over the phone. You have to remove both the battery cover and the battery to see the or to use the Micro SD card slot. There are few changes in the navigation array from the Verizon Razr V3m. Instead of a dedicated camera shutter control on the left side of the four-way toggle, Sprint chose to feature a dedicated speakerphone button instead.

Now come to the features of the Razr V3m .The Sprint V3m’s feature set is slightly different. There’s a 1,000-contact phone book with room in each entry for five phone numbers, notes, a Web address and an e-mail address. You can save contacts to groups and pair them with a photo and one of 20 (73-chord) polyphonic ring tones. Some other essentials include text and multimedia messaging, an alarm clock, a calculator, a vibrate mode, voice dialing and commands, a voice recorder and a world clock. And on the higher end there’s e-mail, PC syncing, the aforementioned speakerphone and USB cable support.

The camera of the Razr V3m is good and it takes pictures in three resolutions, you also can choose from three color effects, brightness and white balance controls, three fun frames, and six shutter sounds, a digital zoom and , three quality settings. The camcorder records 30-second videos with sound while offering a similar set of editing options. You can save your work to the phone’s 23MBof shared memory. The picture quality is decent.

Sprint Razr V3m is compatible with the carrier’s Power Vision streaming video service and its Sprint Music store for music downloads to the onboard digital music player. Generally, we’re more partial to Sprint’s EV-DO offerings than to Verizon’s, and this phone is no exception. You can personalize the Sprint Razr V3m with a variety of sounds, color themes and screensavers. You can always buy more options and more ring tones from Sprint with the WAP 2 wireless Web browser.

MAIN POINT
The Sprint Motorola Razr V3m offers a trendy design, and list of features including Bluetooth, a speakerphone, and support for EV-DO networks. Its menu design is also very good and call quality is great as well. But on the downside Razr V3m suffers from poor speakerphone quality, a low-resolution display, the location of the memory card slot is poor, and the phone’s interface was rather sluggish. So I give 3 stars out of 5 stars to it.
